California CCW Permit Information

Everything you need to know about obtaining a concealed carry permit in California

A California Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit allows you to legally carry a concealed firearm in public. The permit is issued by your county sheriff and requires completion of an approved training course, a background check, and a demonstration of good moral character.

Important: CCW permit requirements vary significantly by county. El Dorado County maintains high standards for qualification and background review. Always contact your county sheriff's office for specific requirements and approved instructors.
